Things I Love About
Practicing gratitude can benefit emotional well-being and increase overall happiness. Finding things in the world around us that we feel grateful for (our health, our family or friends, or even a pet) can be helpful. Thinking about things we like about ourselves can be another important exercise. It can help to increase confidence and self-refection skills.
Some people have difficulty coming up with things that they like about themselves. This is especially true for people who struggle with low self-esteem, which makes the exercise of thinking about positive things about oneself even more important.
Use the worksheet below to encourage children to take time to identify things that they like about themselves. Encourage them to think about things they do, things they are good at, personality traits, and things others may like about them. Suggest that they keep the completed worksheet somewhere that can serve as a reminder of the qualities they like about themselves when they need it.
